Abstract

This study discusses the construction process of the Kabat-Meneng Banyuwangi railway line in 1985-2001. The main problem of this study is how is the background and process of the construction of the Kabat-Meneng Banyuwangi railway line? The problem is discussed through an in-depth study of the railway construction process based on written and oral sources. In this study, most sources come from newspaper archives, reports of the central statistics agency, and archives. The method used is the historical research method, which has five steps of research: topic selection, source collection, verification, interpretation, and writing. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that the construction of the Kabat-Meneng railway line is a long process motivated by the interests of fertilizer distribution in the Banyuwangi area. In addition, the transportation of export and import commodities to the port of Banyuwangi is getting smoother so that many industries also use train services. Trains not only play a role in passenger transportation, but also play a role in the transportation of large quantities of goods. So this is what makes the train a popular transportation for the community. The construction of railroad lines and infrastructure is not just built immediately. But there is a purpose for building a railroad line. Especially in Banyuwangi, the Kabat-Meneng railway line was built because there is a need for transportation for the transportation of fertilizers which will be channeled to the port of Banyuwangi for export. Abstract

To address the complex global challenges of the 21st century, each individual must engage in meaningful learning. This type of research is qualitative with an analytical descriptive approach. This study aims to preserve regional culture that is almost eroded, sothat it is necessary to introduce it to students to revive it.The difference in the way each student learns makes educators rack theirbrains to find and create new learning models so that learning is easily absorbed by students and not boring. Learning material will certainly be interesting if educators are able to convey it creatively. This creativity requires expertise and ideas from educators by utilizing learning media. In the 21st century, history learning is no longer directed at building awareness andnationalism of students alone, but needs to be directed to aspects such as empathy, wisdom, pride in regional culture, the meaning ofnationalism that is not narrow, and patriotism. Ludruk art can improve the character education of students because it takes folklore, history, and everyday life, for example in the remo dance as an opening, ludruk tells about heroism. The results of thisstudy will later contribute to preserving regional culture through education as well as improving the character education of students. Abstract

The existence of the Jawi Wetan Christian Church (GKJW) began with a number of people who claimed to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and the first holy baptism on December 12, 1843 in Surabaya, East Java. Since that time their number increased and a fellowship of believers was formed, namely a fellowship of brothers in faith which then united themselves into one ecclesiastical fellowship on December 11, 1931. The formulation of the problem in this research were: 1) How was the development of the GKJW Madura Ethnic Congregation inSumberpakem village in 1945-2022 ?; 2) How was the religious life of the GKJW Madura Ethnic Congregation in Sumberpakem Village in 1945-2022? The results of the study show that the formation of the Madurese Christian Congregation originated from overseas or migration of Madurese living on Madura Island to East Java. The factor that drives them to migrate is the economic factor. At that time the condition of the land in the areas of Madura Island was barren so that their fields could not be planted so that they had difficulty meeting their daily needs. The organization of worship is a congregational assembly led by the local Pastor, another Pastor during service exchanges, or congregational assemblies taking turns according to the schedule. Worship at Greja Kristen Jawi Wetan Sumberpakem uses Madurese or Indonesian according to the schedule made by the relevant commission, namely the Theological Commission. Abstract

This research discusses specfic primary education for pribumi children during the Dutch colonial period 1900-1920. To find out the forming and condition of indigenous primary schools that were established and operating, the researchers conducted this research with the following objectives: (1) to analyze the establishment of indigenous primary education during the Dutch colonial period 1900-1920 and (2) to analyze the implementation of indigenous primary education during the Dutch colonial administration in 1900-1920. The research method used consists of 5 steps namely: topic selection, heuristics, verification, interpretation, historiography. The results show that the establishment of indigenous primary education in Indonesia during the Dutch colonial period was based on political-economic interests carried out by the government. The Dutch colonial government needed employees who could help on the plantations as clerks. Meanwhile, the problem of illiteracy among the indigenous people is still very high. Because of this, schools were opened for the Bumiputera community to educate prospective government employees who could read and write. The limitations of these goals resulted in minimal development in this Bumiputera school curriculum. Keywords: primary education, pribumi, colonial dutch period.
